Shamsey practices in the areas of Real Estate/Title Insurance,
Real Property, Land-Use/Zoning, Wills & Trusts, Affordable Housing,
Local Government Law, and Quiet Title actions.
Upon
receiving his Juris Doctor, Mr. Shamsey became an
Assistant County Attorney for Charlotte County
representing and counseling the County Commission on
land-use/zoning and real property matters. After
serving in the government sector, Mr. Shamsey entered
private practice in Sarasota where he continued his
land-use and real property work. Mr. Shamsey represents
clients in real estate closings, has served as the
closing agent for dozens of transactions, and is a title
agent for a national title insurance underwriter. Mr.
Shamsey continues as a Consulting Attorney
for Charlotte County, assisting the government in
implementing numerous affordable housing
projects/programs, including the newly created Peace
River Housing Trust and non-profit transitional
housing programs for extremely low-income individuals.
Mr. Shamsey,
a Sarasota native of over thirty years, cares deeply
about the community. Mr. Shamsey has seen the city grow and change and is committed to
helping shape the
dynamic future awaiting Sarasota. Mr. Shamsey is
actively involved in numerous community boards and
organizations, including the Sarasota County Historical
Commission, the Downtown Partnership, the Young
Professionals’ Group of the Sarasota Chamber of
Commerce, the Sarasota Bar Young Lawyers’ Division, the
Affordable Housing Committee of the Real Property
Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, the
Arlington Park Neighborhood Association, and the local
chapter of Autism Speaks.
Mr. Shamsey
is a member of the Florida Bar, the Sarasota County Bar
Association, the Armenian Bar Association, and is
admitted in the United States District Court, Middle
District of Florida. |
